Summary: This toolkit is a handy guide and reference book for participants and others wanting to develop CRP tools and staff capacity for integrating CRP into their programmes both now and in the future.
This how-to toolkit has lots of material, advice and tips for those who would like to involve children in discussions about issues that affect them but don’t know how to get started. It is also just as relevant for those who already have begun to involve children in policy or other discussions and want to take their ideas forward. Based on Save the Children’s experience, it was produced to help children’s meaningful participation in the process leading up to, and including, the 2002 UN General Assembly Special Session on Children. The toolkit’s sections include: taking the first steps, organising a consultation or meeting with children; planning a preparatory meeting with and for them; making children of your delegation; the role of adults in creating an enabling environment; ensuring children are safe and protected, ensuring quality follow-up plus a guide to other resources.
