SAINT KITTS AND NEVIS: Children's Ombudsperson

Summary: Information about institutions in Saint Kitts and Nevis that monitor children's rights.

Children's Ombudsperson

The Ombudsman Act of 2006 established the Office of the Ombudsman in St. Kitts and Nevis, tasked with addressing maladministration in the public sector. The Ombudsman can receive and investigate individual complaints, but it is not entirely clear what the Office's activities are in relation to children and the Committee on the Rights of the Child has not yet examined the Ombudsman's mandate.
