Summary: This report aims to redress the lack
of understanding of the nature
and extent of stigma and
discrimination against children
affected by HIV/AIDS. It also aims to
explore the impacts and effects of
this discrimination, which as yet have
not been fully examined. The report also studies existing responses, both legal and
programmatic, as a means of identifying gaps, lessons to be
learned, and recommendations for future practice. The report
thus aims to initiate a process of highlighting possible solutions
to the problem of discrimination, which will in turn have the long-
term effect of decreasing children's vulnerability and enhancing
their resilience to HIV.
It features on the Learning to Live CD with SC documentation on
HIV/AIDS (under Children Affected by HIV/AIDS).
