Proposed Action Plan to Combat Child labour

The campaign group ‘Stop Child Labour – School is the best place to work’ have written a Proposed Action Plan to Combat Child Labour – 15 Recommendations for Companies.

The Plan is still at the draft stage and the group are inviting comments on the draft.

The group’s aim is to create a useful tool for companies and their supply chain partners, as well as those stakeholders who want assist them in combating all forms of child labour effectively.

In addition the group also welcome successful and less successful examples/cases of efforts by companies - whether big or small - to eradicate child labour and get children back to school. It would be appreciated if people would link examples to one or more of the recommendations, either in support or opposition.

The group would also like to use such examples for an additional document with 'good, mixed and and ineffective/bad practices in combating child labour.’ They will first ask permission before publication.

Please limit submissions to of two pages.

The group are planning to finalise the Action Plan in October or November when it will be once again sent out. All partners of ''Stop Child Labour'' will then use it in their dealings with
companies, governments and other stakeholders.

Suggestions of how this Action Plan could be used by other initiatives, organisations and institutions are most welcome.

Deadline for comments: Mid September
