Children's Ombudsperson

The independent Ombudsperson for Children's Rights was established on 1 September 2000. The Ombudsperson has a comprehensive mandate, but the Committee on the Rights of the Child has raised concerns about the insufficiency of resources allocated to enable the Ombudsperson to effectively carry out this mandate or to fully monitor the implementation of the Convention.
