Children's Ombudsperson

India has a National Human Rights Council (NHRC), and established the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in March 2007 following passage of the Commission for the Protection of Child Rights Act 2005. The mandate of the NCPCR is to ensure that all laws, policies, programmes and administrative mechanisms are compatible with the CRC, and to investigate complaints.
