Children's Ombudsperson

The National Council for Human Rights, created by act No. 94/2003, is an Egyptian human rights institution in accordance with the Paris Principles. The Committee on the Rights of the Child, however, has raised concerns that there is no unit specifically devoted to monitoring and promoting children's rights, and has recommended that a specific body be established with the competence to receive and follow up complaints of child rights violations.
