This review paper was undertaken in the light of growing work within Save the Children Alliance on child rights programming in line with a rights-based approach. This paper intends to initiate a discussion within Save the Children Alliance and other child rights organisations to develop a strategic framework for working with non-discrimination and hopes to: · Highlight issues that need to be addressed when working with/on non-discrimination · Contribute towards developing a strategic framework on the principle of non-discrimination and · Contribute towards developing a concept note/proposal to request the Convention on the Rights of the Child Committee to deliberate and initiate a general comment on non-discrimination This review paper has been developed primarily by analysing the concluding observations made by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child Committee to the South Asian countries regarding Article 2 (non-discrimination), Article 23 (disability) and Article 30 (ethnic rights).
