Children's Ombudsperson

In its Concluding Observations of 2006, the Committee on the Rights of the Child noted with appreciation the establishment of the National Human Rights Commission and the Office of the Mediator of the Republic (Ombudsman), but expressed regret at the limited mandate of the two institutions with regards to children's rights, as well as the limited resources available to the latter.
