Summary: Throughout the article, the issue before us is whether or not there are domestic remedies available to children of inmates in this instance. The answer is yes and no. Yes in the sense that existing programmes address the welfare of these children while ignoring their rights in context of protection. No means that the criminal justice system is not programmed to keep records of the next-of-kin of detainees to facilitate access to the detention centers. This is due to the fact that existing remedies fail to mention children of inmates.Owner: International Institute for Child Protection
