BULGARIA: Children's Ombudspersons

Summary: Information about institutions in Bulgaria that monitor children's rights.

Bulgaria does not have a dedicated Children’s Ombudsperson, but the office of the National Ombudsman has a department that covers children’s rights, the rights of people with disability and discrimination issues. The Draft Bill on the Child Law Act foresees the restructuring of the State Agency for Child Protection into the new Commission for Children’s Rights.
