Breaking the silence: Combating child sexual abuse in Odisha, India

The Youth Council for Development Alternatives (YCDA) in collaboration with UNICEF and the Women and Child Development Departments of the Government of Odisha, India, has undertaken a campaign on "Breaking the Silence… Combating Child Sexual Abuse in Odisha".

 

Purpose of campaign

The purpose of the campaign is to equip children, their families and carers, and society at large with knowledge and tools to prevent and report sexual violence against children, thereby raising awareness of the extent of this violation.

The campaign will focus on addressing issues related to child sexual abuse from multiple perspectives including protection, legal intervention, and advocacy, together with various stakeholders at state and District level.

The launch of the campaign was on 4 July 2014, and a flyer is attached which provides more details.
