Children's Ombudsperson

Following a 2007 Cabinet decision, Bahrain has a National Human Rights Institution. However, the Committee on the Rights of the Child expressed concerns in its 2011 observations that this body did not comply with the Paris Principles. The Committee urged the State to establish an institution in full conformity with those principles, and to seek accreditation from the Co-ordinating Committee of National Institutions for the Promotion of Human Rights.
