Children's Ombudsperson

In its 2012 Concluding Observations, the Committee on the Rights of the Child noted the efforts taken by the Human Rights Ombudsman Institution to investigate complaints of violations of children's rights, and welcomed the Ombudsman's first specialised report on children's rights in the State. The Committee expressed concern, however, at the absence of a specific commissioner with an adequately authoritative mandate to specifically address the rights of children.
