Children's Ombudsperson

The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) was created in 2005 to monitor, promote and protect human rights.  The AIHRC has a mandate to investigate and verify possible human rights violations, and can receive and respond to individual complaints.  The AIHRC is also tasked with advising the Afghan Government on the implementation of international human rights conventions and treaties, and operates a Child Rights Desk with specific responsibility for the rights of children.
