Uzice Child Rights Centre

The main goals of the Centre are to
upgrade the position of children in the
society in accordance with the principles promoted by the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, develop non-
discrimination and child participation and to promote the Convention as a basicchild rights document.

Uzice Child Rights Centre is mainly engaged in education of children, parents and professionals in area of child rights, monitoring child rights and assistance to the most vulnerable groups of children. At the moment we are working on a project called Community Children’s Centre with support of the Save the Children Fund (UK) – Office in Belgrade. This program aims to support the development of children in the post-war period with particular attention to the re-integration of marginalised groups of children (e.g. refugees, internally displaced, children without parental care, children of ethnic minorities, disabled children etc. ) into the wider community. Uzice Child Rights Centre is taking active role in the National Consultations for the UN General Assembly in September together with the Save the Children Fund(UK) and the Yugoslav Child Rights Centre. In addition, we currently provide education on child rights to Save the Children Fund projects, the International Rescue Committee and many other national and local organisations. UCPD
