Save the Children Norway - Nepal

SCN has been working in Nepal since
1984 under a general agreement
signed with the Social Welfare
Council (SWC). SCN has shifted it's
strategy from "self-implementation of
projects" to "working with local
organizations and structures as
partners".
Save the Children Norway’s Global
Objectives

Global trends, analyses and
experience from Save the Children
Norway's own work together with an
increasing demand from donors and
supporters has led to Save the
Children Norway deciding to prioritise
and focus its international work
around six global objectives:

 to promote understanding and
acceptance of children's rights as
defined in the UN Convention on the
rights of the child
 to increase the number of children,
and especially girls, who experience
positive early childhood development
and fulfillment of their right to an
appropriate basic education
 to oppose conditions causing the
negative economic exploitation of
children and which hinder children's
rights to education, health and
development
 to oppose conditions causing the
sexual exploitation and abuse of
children
 to strengthen initiatives which
ensure the psychological
rehabilitation and social reintegration
of children affected by, or who have
fled from, armed conflict or disasters
 to oppose the structural causes
leading to infringement of children’s
rights, especially those related to
international trade policies and
indebtedness.SCN
