The Lutheran World Federation is a
communion of Lutheran churches in
all parts of the world. It has 144
members in 65 countries. The LWF serves as an instrument of
its member churches in areas of
common interest, for example
ecumenical relations, theology,
humanitarian assistance, human
rights and various aspects of mission
and development work
In response to a growing world-wide
awareness of human rights and the
need for their protection the LWF
office for International Affairs and
Human Rights is committed to
supporting and training churches in
their effective response to human
rights violations. LWF
