After the ratification of the
Convention on the Rights of the Child
by Morocco in 1993, the National
Observatory for Child Rights was
established to monitor the
implementation of the Convention in
Morocco. Its main aims and activities
include the protection of children and
the promotion of their rights in
addition to evaluation of progress
made for children in the country.
Current activities include national
level studies on the situation of
children in Morocco, particularly the
state of rural girls, comparative
studies between national legislation
for children and CRC stipulations and
the establishment of a children's
parliament for Morocco. The website
is available in French and Arabic and
forthcoming in English.
