The International Federation of Educative Communities (FICE) was founded under the auspices of UNESCO in 1948. It is an international NGO maintaining consultative status with UNESCO, the Council of Europe, UNICEF and ECOSOC. FICE is engaged in all aspects of child and youth care across international borders. FICE endeavours to further the Rights of the Child irrespective of nationality, race or religion. It focuses on families in problem situations and in particular on children who cannot live with their parents or who, through unusual circumstances such as war and catastrophes, lose their support networks and are therefore in need of special protection.
