The aim of the GUC is to foster peace
and amity among all sections and
communities of people and to serve
the rural poor socially, educationally
and economically. It works to achieve
these aims by establishing
educational institution and by
developing Khadi and village
industries. GUC's programmes include: Integral education, non-formal education, community health, family welfare activities, eye camps, food security and nutrition, Malaria control, a dairy- come-daycare centre for the aged, a vocational training - come handloom weaving centre, environmental protection, a total literacy campaign, campaigns against child labour and organising self - help groups.
