DPDP - Network for the Protection of Children's Rights

The Network for Children’s Rights is a Greek non- profit organisation that was established in 2004 in order to promote and make known the UN Convention for the Rights of the Child , to increase society’s awareness & sensibility towards Children’s Rights and to take action against any type of discrimination.

Network for Children’s Rights works in close cooperation with kindergarten and schoolteachers, professors of secondary education, media, authorities, international organizations, other Greek & European NGOs and the Greek Ombudsman .

The organisation:

- Prepares and applies projects of children’s rights in the early childhood, among the pupils of public schools, parents, social workers.

- Asks for governmental and European action against children’s rights’ violations.

- Exercises pression for the development of governmental programs for the less privileged groups like working adolescents, Roma people, refugee minors, families with children below poverty, single-parent families.

- Organises seminars and events to support less privileged groups

- Publishes children’s books that promote Children’s Rights

To achieve its goals, Network for Children’s Rights organises working groups formed by its members and selected experts. Each working group pursues networking with more individuals that can further promote its goals.
