Summary: The African Child Association is pleased to
invite schools and colleges to participate in
this year’s Children’s Rights Exhibition of Arts,
Paintings and Photographs, Letters, Poetry
and Essay Writing, a celebration of the 15th
Anniversary of the UN CRC and the 12th
Anniversary of the International Children’s Day
of Broadcasting (ICDB)
Promoting the works of 5-19year-old children and young people, schools
are welcomed to send their pupils paintings, carvings, graphics, recorded
images and photographs illustrating the “Rights and Duties of the Child” by
post to the African Child Association, 5 Westminster Bridge, London SE1
7XW or send by email [email protected] on or before 15th December
2004.
Children are also invited to write in Letters and Poetry addressed to the
Prime Minister Mr. Tony Blair c/o ACA, explaining what they would like the
Blair “Commission for Africa” to do or accomplish for African Children in the
UK and most essentially those living in Africa.
Schools with the best entries illustrating the articles contained in the
UNCRC will not only receive “Best Performance Certificate’ from Rt. Hon.
Margaret Hodge MBE MP, Minister of State for Children, Young People and
Families at the Children’s Rights Exhibition, but have their works displayed
in the House of Commons, Government Buildings, such as DFES, Sure Start,
Connexion City Hall and Diplomatic Missions as well as widely publicised
through publications and websites.
Schools and parents wishing to attend the Children’s Rights Exhibition,
should please contact our office on or before the 14h of December 2004 for
adequate arrangements to be made.
