Opening of the 56th Session on the Committee on the Rights of the Child

From 17 January to 4 February 2011, the Committee on the Rights of the Child (the Committee) is holding its 56th Session. Under the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) the Committee will examine the State Party reports from Afghanistan, Belarus, Denmark, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, New Zealand, Singapore and Ukraine. Under the Optional Protocol on the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography (OPSC), the Committee will examine the reports of Belarus and Mexico. Under the Optional Protocol on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflict (OPAC), it will consider the State Party reports of Belarus, Mexico and Ukraine.
