NGO participation in HRC intersessional Working Group meetings

NGO are invited to send their contributions on those four issues addressed by the intersession Working Groups, which will be aggregated on line in addition to the issues and points identified during the NGO preparatory meeting, on 9 November. Send your contributions to [email protected].

Participants to the NGO preparatory meeting recognised that better information exchange and space for discussion among NGOs should take place during those two weeks of Working Group meetings. To that end, participants in the meeting agreed that brief NGO meetings should be organised every morning before the beginning of the HRC Working Group meeting, with the view to strategize and exchange views on the issues to be addressed during the day.

NGO representatives who are planning to participate in and contribute to meetings related to the Review of Mandates are therefore invited to gather at 9:30 AM at Serpentine Bar (UN Geneva) on Monday 13 November 2006. Such morning briefings for participants in the WG meetings will be convened on a daily basis until 24 November 2004.

A webpage has been made available on the CONGO website to gather information on this.

Short summaries of the proceedings will also be provided on this webpage by CONGO on a daily basis. In depth analytical reports will be provided by the International Service for Human Rights at the end of the first week and at the beginning of the HRC 3rd session.
