Summary: Kenyan children and NGOs participate in preparations for reporting to the UN Committee on the Right of the Child.
The Kenya NGO CRC Committee is organising a national dissemination workshop for the Complementary Report to the 2nd Periodic State Report on the implementation of the UNCRC in Kenya. The NGO Sub-Group in Geneva has asked the Kenya NGO CRC Committee to prepare a supplementary report to the state report. A draft report has been prepared and will be reviewed in April. The workshop, which will bring together children and adults from all over Kenya, is scheduled to take place from 15-18 March 2006 at Jumuia Place in Limuru. The objectives of the workshop are to review and contribute to the complimentary report and to plan for the participation of NGOs and children in the presentation of Kenya's report to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child in Geneva in September 2006.
