Australia: Age Discrimination Act 2004

Australia’s five million under 18s are protected by Australia’s Age Discrimination Act 2004. This Act (amended in 2006) includes an exemption relating to education and provides exemptions relating to actions carried out in compliance with a prescribed list of statutes (for example family law, employment programmes, electoral law and the classification of publications, films and computer games).
