This workshop (19-24 May) is organised with Save the Children Alliance, which will take the lead. Save the Children has a good network of young people's organisations in the region, and participants will be selected from those. The overall aim of the workshop is to encourage and empower young participants to become activist change agents back in their own countries.
There will be interaction and overlap between this meeting and the Regional High Level Consultation which takes place from 22-23 May (Kathmandu), which is subtitled "A South Asian Imperative: Investing in Children", and is sponsored together with UNICEF. That related meeting will include delegations led by the Minister of Finance or the Minister of Planning. A third related meeting is the Corporate Leaders' Consultation which takes place 21-23 May.
