  • 5 Terre des Hommes workshops and a body map exhibition at the World Social Forum

The International Federation Terre des Hommes (IFTDH) is a member of the International Council of the World Social Forum. It will present 5 workshops at the World Social Forum to exchange experience with participants on the effects of globalisation on children, education and economic and social rights. It will also offer possibilities to young people to make their voice heard at the Forum.

Workshop 1 : Merchandising Public Interest: 21st Century Social Darwinism of Children
Workshop 2 : Fighting Together Against Child Trafficking in Africa: A Global Challenge
Workshop 3 : Culture and Implementation of Fundamental Rights
Workshop 4: Teenage Pregnancy: Promoting Girls’ Dignity in East Africa
Workshop 5 : Future Strategies and Campaigns of the World Social Forum

  • “Voice For The Voiceless”, Youth Participation

Terre des Hommes Schweiz has offered two Kenyan youth groups the opportunity to organise a youth event during the World Social Forum which they called “Voice For The Voiceless”.

  • A Body Map Exhibition

Terre des Hommes Schweiz has invited 21 youth representatives from all over the world in order to elaborate a life-sized painted silhouette of their body in a joint workshop. It represents an individual map of the person’s outlook on life and dreams for the future. The body maps of these 21 young people will be exhibited during the World Social Forum 2007.
