Sexual exploitation: Webinar Series

The Child Recovery and Reintegration Network is pleased to announce a series of webinars exploring important topics for children affected by sexual exploitation and related trafficking. These webinars are an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to share details of their research and experiences with others. Each webinar will feature two presentations followed by a facilitated question and answer discussion.

Going home: how do children feel about - and what are the experiences of children -returning home? Wednesday 19th September, 11am London time

  • Siobhan Miles: Research Coordinator of the Butterfly Longitudinal Reintegration Research Project at Chab Dai in Cambodia
  • Claire Cody and Dr Ranjita Biswas: Oak Fellow at the Centre for Rural Childhood;
  • Research Coordinator at the School of Women’s Studies, Jadavpur University

Integration into a new setting: how do children integrate following their trafficking experience and what can we learn from work with other populations regarding integration? Thursday 11th October, 3pm London time

  • Dr Elżbieta M. Goździak: Director of Research at the Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM) at Georgetown University
  • Professor Ravi Kohli: Professor of Child Welfare and Head of Department of Applied Social Studies at the University of Bedfordshire

Alternative care and safe accommodation: what are we learning about alternative care for children generally and what does 'safe accommodation' for trafficked children look like? Wednesday 14th November, 3pm London time

  • Emily Delap: Senior Policy Advisor at Family for Everychild
  • Dr Lucie Shuker: Research Fellow in the International Centre for the Study of Sexually Exploited and Trafficked Young People at the University of Bedfordshire
