The second meeting of the Committee of Experts on the protection of children against sexual exploitation and abuse (PC-ES) will take place at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg from September 11 – 13. The PC-ES is going to examine some proposals on a draft convention in this field. The Italian Minister for the family, Mrs Rosy BINDI, will address the Committee notably to express the support of the Italian government to its work. Support for a new Council of Europe Convention Professor Pinheiro, an independet expert appointed by the Secretary General of the United Nations to lead a study on violence against children, expressed his support for the drafting of a Council of Europe convention on the protection of children against sexual exploitation and abuse during an exchange of views with the Committee of Ministers on 12 July 2006.
