INTER-AMERICAN COMMISSION: Session 146

Summary: The 146th Session of the Inter-American Commission will take place from 29 October to 16 November 2012.

Children's rights are set to be on the agenda in a number of discussions scheduled to take place during the 146th session of the Inter-American Commission.

The following sessions either focus exclusively on children, or are likely to include children's rights on the agenda:

1 November

  • Homicides of LGTBI Persons and Impunity in the Americas

  • Use of Pretrial Detention in the Americas


2 November

  • Access to Public Information and the Right to Sexual and Reproductive Health in the Americas
  • Information on Violence, Discrimination, and Social Cleansing of Street People in Mexico
  • Rights of Migrants and Farm Workers in the United States
  • Human Rights and Militarisation in Mexico


4 November

  • Situation of Persons Deprived of Liberty in Brazil
  • Information on Sexual Violence against Women and Girls in Guatemala
  • Human Rights of Children Affected by Gang Violence in El Salvador
  • Information on Discrimination based on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in Guatemala
