EIGHTH CSO FORUM (ACRWC) MEETING

The Management Committee of the CSO Forum (ACRWC) cordially invites you to the eighth meeting of the CSO Forum (ACRWC) to be held at the Desalegn Hotel, Addis Ababa, from 11th to 13th April 2013.

Since its inception in 2009, the CSO forum has consistently met prior to sessions of the African Committee of Experts of the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC), bringing together CSOs from across Africa, Child Rights experts, and representatives from the African Union, to ensure a united voice on behalf of Africa’s children and to strengthen the work of the ACERWC in order to carry out its mandate.

This is the eighth such meeting, and the theme for this year is “Harmful social and cultural practices: Our mutual responsibility”, in line with the theme proposed by the ACERWC for the day of the African Child for 2013.

It is anticipated that this CSO Forum will go beyond mere deliberation and provision of recommendations to the ACERWC, but will result in concrete commitment to practical action in collaboration with the ACERWC and amongst civil society organizations across regional blocks. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the eighth CSO Forum will be the first session where the Forum will be presented as a proper registered NGO.

Delegates may register online or obtain a pdf version of the registration form on www.csoforum.info. Participation is self–sponsored. Further information is available on www.csoforum.info and for any questions kindly write to [email protected].

We look forward to your participation.

Warm regards
