Located in the South Pacific Ocean, Pitcairn is the only inhabited island of the four volcanic Pitcairn Islands. This self-governing British Overseas Territories is the least populated jurisdiction globally. But Pitcairn is estimated to have the highest number of sex offenders per capita, with historic cases of child abuse dating back more than half a century.
