A "rights based approach" comes from the notion that children are rights holders, and that for real change to happen we must promote and protect their rights - not just treat them as objects of charity. The aim of this guide is to explain how every action taken by, with or for children should be based on the knowledge and acknowledgement that they have rights.
This collection of guides include a range of advice and tips, such as how different articles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child applies to different people’s work, to techniques and ideas for how a rights based approach can be employed day-to-day. It is not designed to tell people how to do their jobs, but rather gives them the tools to understand how children’s rights fit into it.
