Resolution of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in response to a request for an advisory opinion by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. 27 January 2009

The Committee of Ministers adopted Recommendation No. R (2000) 4 on the education of Roma/Gypsy children in Europe on 3 February 2000. In it, the Ministers recognise that "there is an urgent need to build new foundations for future educational strategies toward the Roma people in Europe”. The implementation of this Recommendation concerns the 45 member States of the Council of Europe.
