Sweden: Swedish Code of Statutes

Sweden has recently prohibited age discrimination against children with the enactment of the Discrimination Act of 5 June, 2008.  However, although age is listed as a protected factor and children are not excluded from protection against discrimination, differential treatment on grounds of age is in large part permitted "if there is a legitimate purpose and the means that are used are appropriate and necessary to achieve that purpose."
