Refugee Week is a unique opportunity to celebrate the positive contributions that refugees and asylum seekers make to the UK, and to try and promote understanding about why people seek sanctuary. Refugee Week takes place every year in June, to coincide with the annual World Refugee Day on 20th June. This year Refugee Week will be held from 19th to 25th June. The Refugee Council is a proud supporter of Refugee Week and is delighted to have the Refugee Week team based at our London office. The Refugee Council is working with many partners across the country in organising events, in particular Yorkshire and Humberside and the West Midlands. There will hundreds of other events take place across the UK, organised by charities, local government, refugee community organisations, schools, arts organisations and lots more. So please show your support and go to an event in your area. [Source: Refugee Council] Further information
