Between February 25th and March 14th, the exhibition “Too Young to Wed” will be put up at the United Nations in Geneva, coinciding with the 25th session of the Human Rights Council and International Women’s Day. The exhibition by award-winning photographer Stephanie Sinclair is a traveling exhibit of photographs depicting child marriage around the world. The exhibition is brought to Geneva by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in association with Plan International, Girls not Brides, World YWCA, the Governments of Canada, Ethiopia, Finland, Honduras, Italy, the Netherlands, Sierra Leone, Switzerland, Uruguay and Yemen, as well as the African Union, IPU, OHCHR, UNICEF and WHO.
In addition to the exhibition, Plan together with the associated governments and organisations is organising a high level panel debate on child marriage, set at the United Nations on March 3rd.
The panel will be moderated by the Chair of Girls Not Brides’ Advisory Committee, Her Royal Highness Mabel van Oranje, and consists of the following speakers:

Hooria Mashhour, Minister of Human Rights, Yemen
Lynne Yelich, Minister of State of Foreign Affairs, Canada
Ellen Løj, Chair, Plan International
The event will also include a testimony from a former child bride and Zambian human rights activist.
Plan anticipates a fruitful and engaging debate, and is proud to have Ellen Løj share Plan’s experience of working with communities towards eradicating child marriage.
