Summary: <!-- @page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } --> In recent years, interest in International Humanitarian Law has continued to increase and a variety of professionals and students have shown their readiness to devote more time to the study of this branch of law. In response to this demand, the Institute, with its ideal infrastructure in Sanremo, has begun to run a very successful and popular annual Summer course on International Humanitarian Law. The course takes place over a period of 2 weeks, the last 3 days being spent in Geneva, Switzerland. The working language is English and there are a maximum of 60 places available. Experts from all over the world come to the Institute to share their knowledge with greatly motivated students through special lectures and lively workshops organised during the 10 days of the Course in Sanremo. The city's sunny position on the Mediterranean coast provides an extra bonus to all those involved. During the Course there is a full day excursion to the Principality of Monaco, just over the French border, and to Dolceacqua, a charming medieval village in the hinterland of Sanremo. In Geneva, meetings with top-ranking officials and experts will be organised at the United Nations Office in Geneva (UNOG) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). A visit to the Museum of the Red Cross and Red Crescent will also be arranged. The closing Ceremony of the Course takes place in Geneva where all participants are awarded a certificate of participation. The registration fee is 1.500 Euros and the deadline is 1 June 2010.
