INTER-AMERICAN COMMISSION: Session 147

Children's rights are set to be on the agenda in a number of discussions scheduled to take place during the 147th session of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. 

Hearings are scheduled for the following dates in March: 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th. The following hearings either focus exclusively on children, or are likely to include children's rights on the agenda:

  • Situation of the Rights of Children in the Context of Migration in the Americas
  • Right to Nationality of the Dominicans of Haitian Origin in Dominican Republic


13 March

  • Situation of the Right to Life of Indigenous Women and Girls in Canada


14 March

  •  Situation of Defenders of Sexual and Reproductive Rights in Colombia


15 March

  • Human Rights and Criminalisation of Abortion in South America
  • School Violence against Children in the Americas

     

16 March

  • Forced Disappearances in the Americas
  • Situation of Human Rights of Children in Haiti
  • General Situation of Human Rights in El Salvador
  • Situation of Human Rights of Women and Girls in El Salvador
