Human Rights & Democracy: The 2011 Geneva Summit

The gathering is organized by an international coalition of 25 human rights NGOs. The Honorary Chair is Dr. Elie Wiesel, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.

The program will feature many prominent figures, including:

Yang Jianli - Chinese dissident, Tiananmen Square activist and official representative of Lui Xiaboo during the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. Jianli will lead a panel on change, together with other representatives of Chinese minorities and dissidents.

Jacqueline Kasha - The founder and director of Freedom and Roam Uganda (FARUG), the only exclusively lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and intersexual organization in Uganda. Jacqueline will share with us her fight for life in a country where LGBT people face the death penalty.

He was one of the “Lost Boys of Sudan” featured in the 2006 award-winning documentary God Grew Tired of Us.
