Global: 1st International JUCONI Conference - For a World Without Violence

Summary: Conference theme: Domestic violence, children and marginalisation

JUCONI Mexico is inviting professionals (field workers, educators, therapists, social workers and trainers) to share interventions, approaches, methods and techniques which they have found effective in helping marginalised children, youth and families to recover from the harm caused by family violence.

Priority will be given to workshop presentations explaining practice based interventions, strategies and responses which specifically aim to help:

  • children, youth and families gain insight into their problems, develop self-esteem and emotional well-being and build healthy relationships;
  • professionals understand and respond to the behaviours of marginalised children, youth and families affected by family violence and to manage the stress inherent in this work appropriately.
