Envisioning the Future: An International Symposium on HIV/AIDS


 
The Envisioning the Future Symposium will provide an international forum for discussion of best practices and emerging issues related to this population of children.
Topics will include:
  • Prevention of mother to child transmission
  • Community support for orphans and vulnerable children, medical care, education, children's rights
  • Psychosocial issues - early childhood, disclosure, reducing stigma, bereavement, children's participation
  • Keynote Speaker: Stephen Lewis
    United Nations Special Envoy on AIDS in Africa
  • The Envisioning the Future Symposium will be of particular interest to community organizations, researchers, health professionals and others working in the field of children affected by HIV and AIDS. It will lay the groundwork for the development of an ongoing international network or coalition of organizations and individuals working in this field.
