CHILD SLAVERY: Side event of the HRC 18th Session

Summary: In addition to presenting her report during the main 18th Session programme, the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of slavery (Ms. Gulnara Shahinian) will be hosting a presentation and discussion side event.

The presentations will draw from the latest thematic report of the Special Rapporteur to the Human Rights Council on child slavery in the artisanal mining and quarrying sector and will discuss the current challenges in the efforts to prevent child slavery in this sector and to protect and fully rehabilitate victims of contemporary forms of slavery.
