126th regular sessions of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights

The 126th regular sessions of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) was held in Washington, D.C. from October 16 to 27, 2006.  During the sessions, the IACHR examined individual complaints, cases, precautionary measures, as well as thematic and general reports on human rights.

The Inter-American Commission held hearings and working meetings on October 18, 19, 20, 23 and 24.

19 October 2006: Situation of teenagers in the context of violence in Guatemala

20 October 2006: Situation of children in the care of the Jamaican State

23 October 2006: General situation of women in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico

24 October 2006: The case of the Contreras brothers, three children who "disappeared" during the war in El Salvador
