A firm of top international lawyers says it intends seeking huge damages from British public schools where former pupils have suffered serious sexual abuse by teachers.

The Security Council today extended the mandate of the United Nations peacebuilding office in the country, authorised the use of force by European Union troops, and added travel bans and asset freezes to an arms embargo already in place.

Children as young as four were punched, kicked and flogged by staff at Salvation Army homes. 

Controversial article previously allowed rapists to avoid charges if they married their victims.
