Our research indicates that in Zimbabwe, people may lawfully be sentenced to life imprisonment for offences committed while under the age of 18 and males under the age of 18 may be sentenced to corporal punishment.
En un caso presentado por dos niñas representadas por la ONG Veritas, se obtuvo esta importante decisión en medio de reportes que indican que más de 700 millones de las mujeres casadas en el mundo contrajeron matrimonio cuando niñas. De ellas, 250 millones no habían cumplido los 15 años al momento de casarse.
