VIOLENCE: Third CHI Violence Against Children follow up report

Violence and abuse is a daily issue for millions of children around the world. In 2008, child helplines had more than 1.2 million  contacts on violence and abuse. Physical abuse, bullying and sexual abuse are the most common reasons for children to contact a child helpline. On related issues such as commercial exploitation, child substance use and abuse and discrimination child helplines received about a million more contacts.

The third CHI VAC Report details the results on the responses that were given by child helpline members and associate organisations on the nature and incidence of violence against children in their country; the projects implemented by stakeholders and child helplines to address and prevent violence against children; and hindrances encountered by child helpline in implementing these projects.

The report is available in English, French and Spanish. An Arabic version will be available soon.
