Towards Integrating Research Methods On Invisible Forms of Child Labour A Desk Review

Summary: This document provides a review of
existing research methods that can
be applied to the study of the worst
forms of child labour. It assesses the
strengths and weekneses of the
various approaches using examples
from South, Southeast and East Asia.

This document focuses particularly on: The invisibility of much of
the worst forms of child labour, concepts and definitions of the
worst forms of child labour, the use of existing sources of
information for the study of child labour, the implementation of
large-scale, purpose-designed surveys to collect information on
the worst forms of child labour, the application of community-
level, participatory approaches to the collection of information on
the worst forms or child labour, the practical use of the
information collected through the various methods, the interest
and importance of a multi-method approach to the issue of the
worst forms of child labour.
